Actor Vijay, for one reason or the other, has made one headline after the other, and not always for the right reasons his 2017 film Mersal was dragged into controversy for its dialogues that supposedly ridiculed the Goods and Services Tax and the Digital India Program, which was picked by and made into a major issue by the Tamil politicians even demanding a ban at its release, whereas his latest film was in the news for plagiarizing the entire plot and a case in the supreme court was filed for the same as well.

The press has always something that follows Vijay, however, the saving grace for the actor is that his films always manage to earn big numbers at the box office, but this time his stardom would be put to test once more and more than ever, as he has never been hit with a setback as serious as this one which can possibly leave a dent at his reputation.
