Pati, Patni Aur Woh box office collection day 1: Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday’s Pati Patni Aur Woh has taken a solid start at the box office despite competing against Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical drama Panipat. After the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety followed by Luka Chuppi, Pati, Patni Aur Woh just solidifies his position as the rising star of India.
A remake of 1978 film by same name starring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Sinha, Pati, Patni Aur Woh lands right in Kartik Aaryan’s brand of comedy and works in his favour.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has revealed on Twitter that Kartik Aaryan has bagged his highest opener with Pati, Patni Aur Woh. On day 1, the film managed to earn Rs 9.10 crore despite sharing the screens with Panipat. Pati, Patni Aur Woh is expected to witness further growth over the weekend.
The trade analyst has also shared a comparison of all previous Kartik Aaryan’s films and their opening collections. Pyaar Ka Punchnama opened with Rs 92 lakhs, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety opened with Rs 6.42 crore, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 opened with Rs 6.80 crore, Luka Chuppi opened with Rs 8.01 crore and Pati, Patni Aur Woh is finally leading the pack with Rs 9.10 crore.
Speaking about Pati, Patni Aur Woh’s co-release Panipat, the film is a historical drama revolving around the third battle of Panipat and stars Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor. Despite being mounted on a massive scale, Panipat is slacking a bit in the box office race as the film has reportedly earned only Rs 4 crore.
However, the journey ahead for Pati, Patni Aur Woh will be a little tough with films like Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2, Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 and Akshay Kumar’s Good Newwz scheduled for a theatrical release in the month of December.
Helmed by Mudassar Asis and bankrolled under the banner of T Series, Pati, Patni Aur Woh also stars Aparshakti Khurrana in a prominent role, who is garnering praises for his impressive performance.
