1978’s classic Pati, Patni Aur Woh is back at the cinema screen in 2019 but packed with new starcast, fresh storyline and double the entertainment. Released on the cinema screens this Friday on December 6, the reboot of Pati, Patni Aur Woh stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles and has taken an impressive start at the box office. Despite being released alongside Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor’s Panipat, it is Pati, Patni Aur Woh that is leading the race with a significant margin.
The latest report of Box Office India suggests that Pati Patni Aur Woh has earned Rs 10-11 crore on its second day, taking its total earnings to Rs 20 crore. While Pati, Patni Aur Woh is receiving a positive reaction in its opening weekend, its fate at the cinema screens would be determined over weekdays.
In the upcoming weeks, Pati, Patni Aur Woh might face a stiff competition from December releases like Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2, Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 and Akshay Kumar’s Good Newwz. All the films are one of the most anticipated movies of the year and hold the potential to shake Pati, Patni Aur Woh’s stay at the cinema screens.
Panipat, which released alongside Pati, Patni Aur Woh, is rather off to a shaky start and has been underperforming in comparison to its co-release. On Saturday, the film has reportedly earned Rs 5.75-6 crore, collecting a total amount of Rs 10 crore.
Helmed by Mudassar Aziz and bankrolled by T Series, Pati, Patni Aur Woh has been making a buzz with its music and camaraderie between Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan. After Pati, Patni Aur Woh, Kartik Aaryan will be seen in upcoming films Love Aaj Kal remake, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2. Ananya Panday will be seen in Kaali Peeli. Meanwhile, Bhumi Pednekar will be seen in upcoming films Bhoot- Part 1, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and Takht.
