Rani Mukerji is one of the best and pounded actress in Bollywood. In recent years, she has been known for her out of the box choice of films like Mardani and Hichhki aiming for the social evils in the society. Adding one more star to her sky, she has been awarded the title of the Most Influential Cinema Personality in South East Asia. She received the award for her outstanding performance in the movie Hichhki in the year 2018.

The movie is based on the life of a girl Naina Mathur suffering from Tourette Syndrome and because of her condition, she suffered uncontrollable hiccups. How she deals with her life and excels by becoming the principal of a school which she joined as a teacher. She even after her problems, was still aspiring the students of her class to achieve heights in life by letting them focus on their goals.

The class assigned to her was a section full of economically weaker section students, who never have a goal or aim in life. The main focus of the lies in Naina’s struggle to make each and every student of her class excel and compete with other students. The social message the movie gave was despite the problems people can achieve anything they seriously want in life, which really got an applaud by the viewers on the big screen.

With a marvelous concept taken from the biography of Brad Cohn, the film crossed a 250 crore mark. Rani deserved the prestigious award for her performance in a film like Hichhki. While receiving the award in an award function in Singapore, Rani Mukherjee addressed her fans worldwide stating that she has been obliged to receive this award. As an actor, she felt fortunate to get films like Hichhki that inspired her as well as the viewers. She likes films that leave a message for the betterment of society.

The actress will also be seen in Maradani 2, the sequel of the film Mardani aiming the evil of women trafficking. Where Rani played the role of a police inspector whose near and dear girl was picked up by women trafficking gang. The second part of the film tends to focus on similar aspects.
