Wrestler Sushil Kumar, who won 2 Olympic medals and made the nation proud on almost every international platform, today marked his objection on a scene in Vidyut Jammwal’s latest film-Commando 3. Talking to the media, Sushil Kumar said makers portrayed a wrestler as a child molester in a scene, which is like defaming the wrestlers so they must apologise. Sushil Kumar said that he strongly condemns such scenes. Wrestlers are respectable citizens with good moral standing. He added that Commando 3 makers must apologise for portraying wrestlers in a bad light. He also demanded to remove that particular scene from the movie.
Sushil Kumar has won 2 Olympic medals for India- bronze in 2008, Silver in 2012. His statement came 2 days after Olympics bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt had raised the same concern. He had said that filmmakers have portrayed denigrating or mischaracterising athletes. Yogeshwar Dutt had snipped and shared that particular scene of the film and tagged director of the film Aditya Datt asking him to remove the scene from the film. Dutt said everything is not about box office collection and spicy tarka and right to denigrate anyone isn’t being given to you.”
Commando 3 is the third installment of the Vidyut Jammwal’s Commando series which is now surrounded by controversies. Reports said the film collected around Rs 7.95 crore on Sunday and taking now the pace.
