Love Aaj Kal: The film, Love Aaj Kal, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan has become the latest victim of piracy. On the day of its release, February 14, the film was leaked online by TamilRockers. Love Aaj Kal is a remake of the 2009 film of the same name, starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.
TamilRockers is a piracy website that leaks new movies online. With the new Love Aaj Kal falling prey to piracy by Tamilrockers, the film’s collections are likely to be hit. It is expected that online piracy will hit the earnings at the ticket counters. The film, directed by Imtiaz Ali, had generated great buzz before its release but has had to suffer tepid interest because of TamilRockers. Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan have worked hard for the film and found it hard to stay true to the character since it was both a remake and still had to be original. But TamilRockers’ release on its site seems to have poured cold water on all the hard work put in by Sara and Kartik.
Kartik and Sara’s Love Aaj Kal isn’t the only Bollywood film that has been leaked by Tamilrockers. Recently-released films like Varun Dhawan’s Street Dancer 3D, Kangana Ranaut’s Panga, Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak and Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior were also put out by the piracy site.
Though the government has banned TamilRockers, it continues to thrive by changing domains and continuing to put out films that have just hit the theatres. Not only Love Aaj Kal or other movies of Bollywood but even Tollywood, and Hollywood are victims of TamilRockers. English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Punjabi films have been leaked by the website.
