Takht: The already ambitious star cast of Karan Johar’s directorial Takht has become bigger and better. After Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, the latest actor to join the star cast of Takht is Jaaved Jaaferi. On April 9, Jaaved Jaaferi confirmed the development to a news agency and spilled some beans on his character in the film.
Jaaved Jafferi revealed that he will be playing the head priest in Shah Jahan’s court. His character is the qaasi embodied with responsibilities of all religious affairs. Henceforth, it is a very strong part.
Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of Takht has been postponed for now. In a recent interview with a film journalist, Karan Johar shared that he had planned to shoot Takht in Italy and Spain. After reccying for two and a half years, the team of Takht had finalised a palace in Florence followed by Bari in Italy and Seville and Spain but he doesn’t know how things will pan out now.
Recently, there were also reports that Karan Johar has joined hands with T Series for a merged acquisition. However, the director busted all the rumours with a tweet calling all such reports as baseless and untrue. For now, Takht is slated for a release on December 24, 2021.
Speaking about Jaaved Jaaferi, the actor will also be seen in upcoming films like Sooryavanshi co-starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as well as Coolie No. 1 co-starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan.
