Thappad trailer review: The year gone by, reignited dialogue on romantic relationships and expressions of love. It all started with the controversial Hindi remake of hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy titled Kabir Singh featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. While the film went on to become one of the biggest commercial successes of the year, it also enraged a large section of the audience for glorying misogyny. What further sent shock waves across the country was director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s viral interview with a film portal, in which he justified violence as an expression of love.

Come 2020, Taapsee Pannu is back with his latest film titled Thappad and it seems like the most impactful and hard-hitting response to Vanga’s ideology. After sending chills on social media with a powerful poster, the trailer of Thappad is finally out and it is sure to become a conversation-starter.

Just a slap? Yes, just a slap but it is unacceptable. Thappad echoes this sentiment loud enough to reach the right ears and is all set to emerge as one of the important films of 2020. Right from the word go, you are hooked to the trailer and know exactly where it is going. After Mulk, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha and Taapsee Pannu reunite for their second collaboration and we couldn’t be more excited.
