The Sky Is Pink box office collection day 2: The Sky is not so clear for this week’s release The Sky Is Pink. Inspired by the life of Chaudhary’s, who braved the death of their daughter and motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, The Sky Is Pink has met with an overwhelming response from film critics all around the world but seems to have been shunned by the Indian audiences.
As the film continues to garner praises on social media, the cinema halls are witnessing a low turnout despite having stars like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf on-board.
A report by Box Office India suggests that The Sky Is Pink earned only Rs 2.50 crore on its first day and the buzz around the film on its second day doesn’t seem too high either. If the film doesn’t pick up the pace on its opening weekend, The Sky Is Pink will enter in the category of another blink and miss appearances of the year.
While several fans express disappointment over The Sky Is Pink’s low performance at the box office, Filmmaker Shonali Bose has urged everyone to go and watch the film in theatres. Calling it a film straight out of her heart, Shonali has said that if the Sky Is Pink doesn’t do well, many filmmakers would not take the risk of making films on a difficult subject. Informing that the film has released in about 800 screens, she has requested fans to make the box office golden.
On the other hand, War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff is flying high with rave reviews and fantastic performance at the silver screens. In its Week 2, the film has earned a total collection of Rs 245.95 crore.
Considering big releases like Saand Ki Aankh and Housefull 4 on Diwali, it seems like the makers of The Sky Is Pink would have to act soon to ensure a decent run at the silver screens. While the film marks Priyanka Chopra’s comeback in Hindi cinemas after a hiatus of 3 years, it is also Zaira Wasim’s last acting stint.
