The Varun Dhawan starrer Mr. Lele has been postponed due to scheduling conflict, director Shashank Khaitan shared a post on social media announcing the news.
Shashank in the post wrote he, Varun Dhawan and the Producer of the film Karan Johar have mutually decided to postpone the film, while also stating that the script of the film was worth realizing into a film and they would love to come back on it, but at present, the scheduling issues have made it difficult for the film to go on floors as it features an ensemble cast which requires free dates of multiple actors.
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania director also wrote in the same post that he loves working with Varun Dhawan and will collaborate with him soon either on Mr. Lele itself or on any other project as working with Varun is one of the most joyful and fulfilling experiences.
Mr. Lele would have marked the third film of the actor-director duo, who have hits like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania under their belt both of which are well-celebrated films that earned big numbers at the box office.
With Mr. Lele postponed Varun Dhawan has only one announced project in Coolie No.1 which will release later this year and see the actor return in a David Dhawan film after the uber-successful Judwa 2.
Mr. Lele was a comedy of errors while other details regarding the film were kept under wraps with only known information that the script was penned by the director Shashank Khaitan himself.
This announcement of the film being postponed comes as a shock to Varun Dhawan’s fans who were eagerly waiting for Mr. Lele as the poster of the film created a considerable amount of buzz among the fans.
