BJP MP Parvesh Verma’s shocker: BJP MP Parvesh Verma has levelled serious accusations against the Shaheen Bagh protesters, saying they will enter the houses and rape sisters and daughters if they are not removed from the spot. Verma made these remarks while talking to ANI on Tuesday, January 28.
He advised the people of Delhi to think before pressing the EVM button on February 8, apparently requesting them to vote for the BJP which is trying its best to unseat the Arvind Kejriwal-led government. He asked Delhiites that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will not come to save them tomorrow if they did not vote for the saffron party.
The BJP MP also threatened that if the BJP wins, they will clear Shaheen Bagh protesters with an hour. He also linked the ongoing protests with the unity of the country, appealing voters that the upcoming poll is for the stability of the country.
Verma went to say that his party will raze down mosques built on government land. He said that the BJP government, if voted to power, will demolish mosques in just one month in his West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
Prior to Verma’s hate rant, Union Minister Anurag Thakur incited participants to raise slogans against the Shaheen Bagh protesters. His supporters responded to Thakur’s slogan of desh kay gaddaron ko by saying goli maaro sa*** ko.
This comes at a time when the European Union Parliament is set to vote on an anti-CAA resolution on Thursday, after discussing it Wednesday. The resolution has also mentioned Jammu and Kashmir which was stripped of its special status and split into two Union Territories.
The EU actions have been seen as a big shift towards India’s foreign policy. India has so far maintained that both Kashmir and the CAA were its internal issues. The country has justified both its August 5 move in the valley and contentious law.
