Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday blamed the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress for the ongoing protests at Jamia Millia Islamia and Shaheen Bagh. Speaking at an election rally in Karkardooma, he said it was not a coincidence that there were protests but it was an experiment by the 2 parties to divide and play votebank politics. Modi said Delhi is a land of heritage and credited Delhiites for the success of the state. He said the votes of Delhiites will change the situation of the city-state. He claimed voting for the party will help the BJP to fulfill the dreams of the people of Delhi and the BJP alone can fulfill such dreams.

The Prime Minister said the protests in Jamia Nagar, Seelampur, and Shaheen Bagh were being done to disturb the communal harmony of the nation. PM Modi said that these are the same people (AAP and Congress) who have been saving those who were trying to divide the nation.

The PM targeted AAP for not implementing the Central schemes for the welfare of the poor because of hatred. He spoke of the schemes and work done by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He told the audience that almost 8 crore women got gas stoves and the nation also received the Lokpal for the first time. He said 10 crore people got toilets in their homes.

Returning to the BJP’s core topic of nationalism, Modi spoke about the withdrawal of Article 370 in Kashmir and the multiple steps taken to protect the country from foreign powers. He reminded people that the surgical strike on Balakot was necessitated after the Pulwama suicide blast that killed over 50 CRPF personnel.
