Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked who paid the shooter, as he referred to the dramatic scenes created near Delhi’s Jamia Milia Islamia University on Thursday when a young man fired at the protestors who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Mr Gandhi questioned outside the Parliament on the opening day of the budget session.

A 17-year-old man pulled out a gun pointing at the protestors and suddenly, fired at one of them making him injured. However, the police managed to arrest the shooter immediately but this has raised many questions against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as this has happened a few days after their MP Anurag Thakur provoked public by chanting Desh Ke Gaddaro Ko… at an election rally in Delhi.

Earlier on Thursday, the Congress MP from Kerala’s Wayanad tweeted a Mahatma Gandhi quote – He cannot teach you violence, as he does not believe in it. He can only teach you not to bow your heads before any one, even at the cost of your life.

Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and his mother, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, protested near Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises today against the CAA, NRC (National Register of Citizens) and NPR (National Population Register).

On Thursday, after the Jamia Nagar incident, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi slammed PM Narendra Modi as he tweeted thanks to @ianuragthakur & all the 9 PM nationalists who have created so much hatred in this country that a terrorist shoots a student while cops watch. Hi @PMOIndia identify him by his clothes.
