He had to earn a tough win again against Filipi Krjinovic in the second-round and defeated John Millman and Marton Fucsovics in the third and fourth rounds respectively.
The fourth set was leveled at 6-6 and the Swiss star defeated Sandren 10-8 in the tiebreaker to take the match into the final set. However, in the fifth and final set Federer looked in his old form and took away the match from Sandgren with winning the set 6-3.
In the post-match conference, FedEx said that he got incredibly lucky. he admitted that at the start of the match he wasn’t at his best but as it went on he felt better about his game.
