After facing a humiliating defeat against India in the 2nd Test at Pune by an innings and 137 runs, South African skipper Faf du Plessis, in the post-match conference, said that there is a lot of difference between his team and current Team India. He said India has players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Chiteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja who carry a lot of experience under their belt, while comparatively Proteas side is inexperience. He added that it’s not possible to replace players like Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers overnight.

India continued its great and winning streak form the first Test. Indian bowlers wrapped up Proteas batting line up for 275 and 189 runs, it was purely their experience and presence of mind. du Plessis reiterated his statement that the best Test teams is the teams with the most experience. In the last match also India has won by 203 runs and now again Virat Kohli and co. did a fabulous job. Team India is loaded with experienced players, said dejected African skipper after India locked the Gandhi-Mandela series 2-0.

Proteas are facing dark days when the team has lost all its experienced players namely Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers. These big names cannot be replaced overnight. Du Plessis said his boys have played 5, 6, 10, or maximum 15 Tests and they will take some time to give their best. Every team would face the same hurdles if its best players bid adieu to the game.
