The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said on Tuesday that the tickets for the first four days of the upcoming Pink ball Test have been sold out. India will face Bangladesh in the day/night Test match at the iconic Eden Gardens from November 22 and both teams have already reached the city of joy.
Ganguly after visiting the BCCI headquarters on Tuesday said that the tickets have been sold out and he is extremely happy about it. When the former India captain asked about how many days it was sold out, he said it is the first four.
Earlier, Ganguly released the official mascot Pinku-Tinku for the match at the Eden Gardens. The stadium has a total of 67,000 seats available and considered one of the biggest in the country. The match will be kicked off with army paratroopers flying over the stadium handing down the pink ball to the skippers of two teams before the toss.
After that, the traditional Eden Bell will be ringed by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
During the lunch break of Day 1, the CAB will organize an event featuring former India players Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, and VVS Laxman. These five former cricketers, who are also known as Fabulous Five, will discuss India’s historic 2001 Test win against Australia in the ground.
In the 20-minute tea break, former captains and sports stars will go out on the ground on carts and will interact with the fans along the boundary lines.
The CAB also invited sports stars like Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, tennis player Sania Mirza, Badminton star PV Sindhu, and six-time World boxing championship winner MC Mary Kom among others.
