India vs West Indies: After successfully chasing down their highest-ever target in the shortest format, India are set to lock horns against World T20I Champions at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram today at 7 PM. The Virat Kohli-led side will be looking to seal the three-match series 2-0. They are having an edge in the second encounter, following their six-wicket victory in Hyderabad on Friday.
On the other side, Kieron Pollard-led Windies will be aiming to defeat India and level the series. It will be a do-or-die for West Indies to win the match and remain in the series. To strengthen the bowling line-up, reports suggest, the visitors are mulling to make some changes in the playing XI. In Hyderabad, Indian batsmen had hit the Windies bowlers left, right and the Centre.
Baring Sheldon Cottrell, no other bowler could stop Indian batsmen from scoring runs. He conceded 24 runs and claimed a wicket in his four-over spell. Kesrick Willaims conceded 60 runs off 3.4 overs. He also remained wicketless. Though Khary Pierre got two wickets, he gave away 44 runs in his four overs. Skipper Pollard also got a wicket in his one over, conceding 10 runs.
For India, Windies batsmen came down heavily on Deepak Chahar who conceded 56 runs in his four-over spell. He failed to claim any wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets and gave away 36 runs in his four-over spell. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar also picked up one each wicket. According to reports, India might make some changes in the playing XI.
Meanwhile, the last match of the series will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams will also play three-match ODI series, starting from December 15 to December 21. This will be India’s last series in 2019. Kohli and Co will start 2020’s first assignment against Sri Lanka.
