Real Sociedad vs Barcelona: Real Sociedad on Saturday ended Barcelona’s winning streak as the much-awaited game at Anoeta Stadium tied 2-2. Mikel Oyarzabal, who plays forward, gave a thumping start to Real Sociedad after scoring a goal. Lionel Messi-led Barca immediately equalled when Antoine Griezmann scored a goal. Barca got a lead with the second goal from Antoine Griezmann.

At one moment, it looked Barca might register a seventh consecutive win, but their hopes were dashed with the goal by Alexander Isak. Both the teams got one each point but their standings remained unchanged in the La Liga points table. With a tie, Real Madrid have now 34 points while Real Sociedad enjoy 28 points.

All eyes were on The GOAT who has so far remained the highest scorer with 12 goals. Messi could not convert passes into goals. On Friday, La Real’s manager Imanol Alguacil had admitted that there was no way of restricting Messi. He said the Argentine footballer was unstoppable and had hoped a bad day for Messi.

Alguacil also praised Messi, saying that he has been competing against top teams across all competitions and it was certainly not easy to stop him. Real Sociedad manager also lauded Barca, saying they have best players. Also, just ahead of today’s game, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde had said that encounter would be a tough one.

Meanwhile, the draw came several days before Clasico at Camp Nou. Barcelona and Real Madrid, this season’s top two teams, are scheduled to play on Wednesday. Millions of Barca and Zinedine Zidane team’s fans are expecting a thrilling encounter.

The champions of the previous La Liga can remove Barca from the top spot if they win Clasico. Though Zidane today said that his team was more focused on Valencia game and not thinking about Barcelona. Valencia have won three consecutive games and it would not be easy for Real Madrid to dominate them.
