Real Sociedad vs Barcelona: Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde on Friday said that their next game against No. fourth Real Sociedad will be a tough one. Addressing a presser, the Barca manager said that Saturday’s game will be their one of the toughest encounters of this season’s La Liga.
His comments came ahead of the much-awaited game which will be played at Anoeta Stadium. Valverde though said that Lionel Messi-led team had defeated Real Socided in the past two seasons, but they lost against them in the previous season.
The retired Spanish footballer said that Imanol Alguacil’s team had pushed them hard at Camp Nou, making it tough for them to resist. He asserted that all the Barca players are focused on the Anoeta encounter, eyeing to get three valuable points.
Meanwhile, after dismantling Real Mallorca 5-1 in their last game, Barcelona are looking to continue their winning streak. They have won seven consecutive games, claiming the top spot of the La Liga standings.
Currently, Messi captained team has won 11 matches out of 15. Their three matches ended in a draw. Barca are followed by Real Madrid, having won 10 matches out of 15. Sevilla are at the third spot, claiming victories in nine games out of 16. Real Sociedad are at the four number with eights win out of 16 games.
Meanwhile, Barca are having an edge as this season has proved to be spectacular for Messi. He is the top scorer with 12 goals. He also scored his 35th hat-trick, overtaking Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga. The Juventus forward had scored 34 La Liga treble.
Messi also became the first footballer to won Ballon d’Or most of the times. He claimed the title for the record sixth time. Earlier, Ronaldo had been holding the record, winning the prestigious title five times. The Argentine footballer lifted the Ballon d’Or after defeating Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool.
