Hardik Pandya who has been married recently opened up on what role he is going to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Pandya is expected to be given the responsibiity to finish the match during the tournament which is set to be held in October-November in Australia this year.

Pandya has been off the field due to injury since September 2019 and likely to make his comeback for the Indian squas very soon. He has been called to play for India A in the upcoming New Zealand tour.

However, in a recent event the Baroda all=rounder was asked about taking up the finisher’s role in the World Cup 2019 if former India captain don’t get included in the squad. In reply, the 26-year-old cricketer said whether he take up the finisher’s role or not, he will never be able to fill he shoes of MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni last played for India in last year’s World Cup and has been missing in the squad since then. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has taken a sabbatical and so far there is no information about his return to the field. Risabh Pant has taken the wicket-keeper’s spot in the Indian team for quite a while now.

Although, Pandya accepted that he is excited to take up the new challenge andwill look one step at the ladder while playing the tournament. Hardik Pandya recently got engaged with Mumbai based Serbian actor Natasa Stankovic on Jan 1 of the new year. It came as a surprise for his fans.The cricketer took to Instagram to reveal his engagemnet with his Euroepean girlfriend.
