India vs Bangladesh U-19 World Cup 2020 finals: Bangladesh’s Under-19 cricket team created history on Sunday winning the ICC U-19 World Cup by 3 wickets via D/L method. Batting first India got all out for a small total of 177-run. Except Yashasvi Jaiswal (88), no other batsman managed to stick at the center. It was a day long match, but men in blue played it like a T20 game and were in a hurry, that wasn’t required.
Indian openers Divyansh Sexena started slowly and was eyeing get settle first and then score. But his plan gone wrong as he couldn’t manage to rid of the pressure. Till then Bangladeshi bowlers had gained the momentum which helped them to restrict India for a low total. Saxena scored only 2 runs off 17 balls.
Number 3 batsman, Tilak Verma 38 (65) tried to build a partnership with Jaiswal but failed to convert his innings into a big one. The pressure of the World Cup finals and Bangladeshi Tigers bowling confidence was clearly visible in the Indian inning.
It was a flop show by Indian batsmen as 8 batsmen couldn’t even cross the double digit mark.
Team’s middle order and tail collapsed like a house of cards. Captain Priyam Garg managed only 7 runs off 9 balls. Dhruv Jurel 22, Siddhesh Veer 0 (1), Atharva Ankolekar 3 (7), Ravi Bishnoi 2 (6), Sushant Mishra 3(8) Kartik Tyagi 0 (5), Akash Singh 1 (7) was a Team India’s heart breaking score card.
The game was interrupted by the rain which made it a 46-over game and target was reduced to 170.
Bangladesh had to score 170 runs in 276 balls to lift the trophy. Bangladeshi Tigers too had a little pressure as the glittering world title was on stake. Their openers started in a slow manner but Parvez Hossain Emon’ 47 and Akbar Ali’s 43 power Bangladesh to win the match.
