Manchester United fans attack club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s house with flares on Wednesday. The English football club officials called it a unwarranted attack on the home of the senior member of the Manchester-based club.

A video has been posted on social media where it can be seen that red flares are being hurled on Woodward’s house. The club’s senior members criticized the incident with calling it unfortunate.

Ed Woodward’s gonna die- was written at the bottom of the video. The club in a statement said anybody who will found to be intruding the property of Ed Woodward will be banned by the club for lifetime.

The statement also said that stating any opinion is one thing but trespassing anyone’s private property is not acceptable. No excuse can justify this criminal activity, said the club official in the statement.

It is not clear yet whether Woodward was inside the house or out of it. There is widespread speculation that Manchester United’s poor performance in the English Premiere League is the prime reason for such attack on the senior club official.

United fans has verbally abused Woodward and club’s owners- US- based Glazer family in last few matches. It could be the reason of club’s constant failure in transfer window where despite of having poor team combination the club management has been failed to buy any valuable players.

Manchester United, who are 20-time champion of the English Premiere league has not been able to lift the trophy since 2013. Their team in last two season has been extremely poor. The club is currently at the fifth spot in the league table which is certainly a below par performance for a club of United’s stature.
