Aussie batsman Steve Smith heaped praises on India skipper Virat Kohli after the recent ODI series where the Men in Blue stole the show with sheer determination. Smith who is often considered as the only contender n terms of consistency in World cricket, said Virat hunger for runs will help him to break several batting records in international cricket.
To many cricket pundits, Smith is now the best Test batsman with an unorthodox batting stance. Currently Smith stands at an average f 62.84 in the red-ball cricket, the highest among all active players. However, his ODI average is 42.95 and T20Is average is 27.47. Kohli is more successful in the limited-overs cricket with an average of over 52.
The 30-year-old Australian also lauded Kohli’s leadership skills. He said that the Delhi batsman led the Indian team exceptionally well. He added Kohli already made Indian team the No 1 side in Test cricket and doing his job with great work ethic.
Ball teampering incident in South Africa was a huge setback for his career. He had to face lots of criticism being the captain of the squad at that time. Althugh. Smith has now moved on from tha dark phase of his career and admitted its hardwork that helped him to regain his respect in the Australian cricket.
Speaking about his comeback, Smith said that his experience helped him in his comeback and fortuately may be that is why he was able to to play some good innings in England and back home in last summer.
