Govardhan Pooja 2019: Govardhan Pooja is performed on the next day of Diwali. Govardhan pooja is done every year on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This time this pooja will be performed on 28th October i.e. today.
This Pooja was started by Lord Krishna. On this day, Govardhan Parvat is worshiped as the basis of nature and cow is worshiped as the basis of society.
If you also do Govardhan Pooja and go on circumambulation, then keep these things in mind. Avoid these inauspicious things on this day.
Do not organize Govardhan Pooja and Annakut in a closed room. While worshiping cows, do not forget to worship Lord Krishna.
Worshiping Pooja without putting oil on the body in the morning.
While worshiping never wear dirty clothes. The clothes worn in Govadrhan Poja should be neat and clean.
The Govardhan Pooja should be performed together by all the members of the family. Worshiping seperately is considered to be inauspicious.
People involved in worship should not wear dark-colored clothes. Wearing light yellow or orange clothes is considered perfect.
At the time of Govardhan Pooja, do not harm anyone.
Do not wear shoes and slippers while circling. If a person is weak or if little kids are involved, then neat and clean rubber can be used.
The circumambulation of Govardhan Parvat should never be left incomplete.
No smoke or any intoxicating substances should be used while circling Govardhan Parvat.
Every member of the household should make and eat food from the same kitchen.
